2022 Law and Regulatory Changes (Part 2 of 3)

In 2022, there are a lot of changes that are taking place on a national level that could have a dramatic effect on employers. The items listed below is the second of a three-part series that every employer should be aware of.

Based upon the list below and the subsequent lists to follow, employers should evaluate their policies and procedures in order to ensure that they are compliant with State and Federal law.
  • Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Robotics implementation in the workplace restriction on employers that solely rely upon artificial intelligence to determine whether an applicant will qualify for an in-person interview
  • Non-Compete agreements are under attack on the State level
  • Lactation accommodations now are required in some States
  • Discrimination: off-duty conduct prohibits an employer from discriminating against an employee for legal use of marijuana during non-working hours
Employers must be aware of the changes on a local, State and National level and policies and procedures must be reviewed and revised accordingly.
