Cyber Security Risks

The threat of a cyber attack increases every hour. As more employees work remote, and as technology expands in the workspace, employers must take the threat of cyber security seriously. Below are some suggestions to ensure that your technology and data are safe.

  • Select Platform: Select healthcare complaint platforms. Social media interaction should be avoided.
  • Data Policy: Implement and monitor. All employees should be trained and required to strictly adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Strong Passwords: Use alpha-numeric passwords for all devices and use multifactor authentication.
  • Managed Security services provider (MSSP): Use an MSSP as guidance for your security protection assessment.
  • Internet Guidelines: Every employer should have a detailed policy regarding computer activity that is strictly prohibited.
  • Inventory Equipment: Identify of all equipment and software for quick reference in case an emergency occurs (breach or attack.)
  • Security Risk Assessment: Perform an annual risk assessment with your IT expert to evaluate your date and system vulnerabilities.
  • HIPAA compliance: For 2022, employers must perform a very detailed risk assessment in order to ensure compliance.
