Vishing emails avoid detection by email security filters due to several tactics:

Phone numbers are not typically tracked or flagged as potential fraud, which allows vishing campaigns to evade detection.

Examples of Common Vishing Attacks:

• IRS Tax Scam: Pre-recorded messages that claim there is a problem with individual or corporate tax returns and urge an immediate callback in order to avoid being arrested.

• Tech-Support Scams: Attackers pose as a tech company representative in order to install malware or steal data.

• Bank-Impersonation Scams: Scammers claim there is unusual activity regarding an individual or corporate bank account in order to extract login credentials.

• Social Security or Medicare Scams: Targeting older adults by posing as officials to obtain sensitive and confidential information.

• Delivery Scams: Fake notifications about shipping problems from companies like Amazon or UPS, that lead to requests for personal information.

• Loan and Investment Scams: Offering high returns with low risk, using high-pressure tactics and misleading information.

• Voice-Cloning Scams: Using Artificial Intelligence (AI) to duplicate trusted voices to request wire transfers.
