Biography
Stuart J. Oberman is the founder and President of Oberman Law Firm. Mr. Oberman graduated from Urbana University and received his law degree from John Marshall Law School. Mr. Oberman has been practicing law for over 30 years, and before going into private practice, Mr. Oberman was in-house counsel for a Fortune 500 Company.
Mr. Oberman is highly regarded on a national basis in the areas of private equity, M&A, healthcare, corporate transactions, intellectual property, data privacy and security, regulatory compliance and governance, cross-border transactions, labor and employment, construction law, litigation, private clients’ services, corporate restructuring, and white-collar and governmental disputes, commercial real estate, corporate law, employment law, estate planning, probate, guardianships, healthcare practice, healthcare regulation, telemedicine, HIPAA privacy and security, and private equity.
In the areas of regulatory compliance, HR and risk management, Mr. Oberman advises local, national and global clients on such complex matters that involve separation, severance and non-compete agreements, workplace investigations, compensation audits, employment policy and practice review and audits, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (Title VII), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA), EEOC Regulations, and the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA).
Mr. Oberman also advises healthcare clients on a national basis in the areas of corporate structures, mergers and acquisitions, regulatory compliance, advertising regulations, HIPAA, Compliance, and employment law regulations that affect healthcare practices. In addition, Mr. Oberman’s expertise in the healthcare industry includes advising clients on complex regulatory matters as it relates to telehealth and telemedicine, including compliance of corporate structures, third-party reimbursement, contract negotiations, technology, healthcare fraud and abuse law (Anti-Kickback Statute and the State Law), professional liability risk management, and federal and state regulations.
Mr. Oberman also represents clients throughout the United States in a wide range of corporate practice areas, including partnership agreements, commercial real estate, entity formation, employment law, commercial leasing, intellectual property, and HIPAA/OSHA compliance.
Mr. Oberman is a national lecturer and has published articles in the U.S. and Canada. In addition, Mr. Oberman is a recipient of the Martindale-Hubbell Client Distinction Award, which is based on client review ratings in the categories of communications ability, responsiveness, and quality of service.
